More Details About Ashwaubenon Police Officer Struck by Drunk Driver

More details have been released regarding the Ashwaubenon police officer who was struck by a drunk driver late Saturday evening. 28 year old Kalin McGuire of Greenleaf was the driver of the vehicle that struck Officer Brian Murphy on Interstate 41 near Waube Lane. McGuire and her husband were traveling back home after a wedding reception with their 1 ½ year old in the back seat. McGuire said she had “three of four vodka mixers”, and a breathalyzer test showed she had a blood alcohol content of .125. McGuire is now facing felony charges of Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle, and Cause Injury/OWI with a Passenger Under 16. As for Officer Murphy, he has undergone two surgeries since the incident, the first of which was considered life-saving. An investigation is ongoing.
