Child Pornography Charges Against 44 Year Old Manitowoc Man

Bail is set at $1000 cash for a 44- year- old Manitowoc man charged with possession of child pornography. Police took Andrew M. Lenz into custody yesterday (Wednesday) after following up on an initial cybertip investigation from February of this year. The cybertip was where a suspect (Lenz) had uploaded a child porn image to a website and his associated gmail account. Through subpoenas executed during the investigation the account and upload was linked  to Mr. Lenz at his address on North 18^th street. A warrant was excuted on Lenz’s private belongings with four electronic devices seized. A forensic examination was executed on two of the devices where child pornography images were located.  After originally denying uploading the original image to the website Lenz then stated he had viewed child porn three weeks prior to his arrest. Conditions of bail are that he doesn’t possess or use any internet enabled device and report to MPD  for fingerprints upon release.  Lenz remains in the county jail and his initial appearance is scheduled for July 31^st at 2:30.
