Former Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has been inducted into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Selig got the honor Sunday on his 83rd birthday. The former owner of the Milwaukee Brewers presided over the game during a period of explosive growth. Baseball is now a 10-billion dollar industry, setting revenue and attendance records nearly every year. Eighteen of the 30 major league parks were built during his tenure and four expansion franchises — the Miami Marlins, the Colorado Rockies, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Tampa Bay Rays — were added while he was running things. Selig bought the Seattle Pilots 47 years ago and moved them to Milwaukee, renaming them the Brewers. He took over as acting commissioner in 1992, was given the permanent job in 1998 and stepped down 16 years later.
