Home runs by Victor Caratini and Kris Bryant broke a 2-2 tie, powering the Chicago Cubs past Milwaukee Sunday 4-2. The win gives the Cubs a two-and-a-half-game lead in the National League Central Division. The late homers spoiled an otherwise solid pitching performance by Zach Davies. John Lackey was the winner for Chicago. Domingo Santana’s two-run home run in the sixth had tied the score, flying over Chicago outfielder Jason Heyward’s glove by just inches. The Brewers are off today (Monday), then take on the St. Louis Cardinals in a three-game series beginning Tuesday. Jimmy Nelson will start for Milwaukee.
