Packers’ legendary quarterback Bart Starr is back at his exercise class after having surgery last week for a sinus infection. The 83-year-old Starr has had numerous health scares the past three years that included a heart attack, two strokes, a broken hip, and a near fatal bronchial infection. For those reasons, doctors were concerned about using anesthesia to knock him out during his sinus operation. But Starr’s wife Cherry tells U-S-A Today he woke up and gave a pep talk to his medical team for about ten minutes, and she calls it the “funniest thing you’ve ever heard” and the first time he talked that way in three years. It’s just the latest recovery for Starr, the M-V-P of the first two Super Bowls who made an emotional return to Green Bay two years ago and stole the show during a halftime ceremony that honored Brett Favre.
