Yadier Molina hits two solo homers to help the Saint Louis Cardinals beat the Brewers in Milwaukee 5-4. The veteran catcher also doubled as the Redbirds evened their three game series and pulled to within two games of second place Milwaukee, which remains two and a half behind the N-L Central leading Chicago Cubs. The Brewers scored three late runs in the seventh and eighth innings when they had five of their eight hits, highlighted by a two run pinch hit homer from Jesus Aguilar. Eric Thames hit his team leading 25th homer for the Crew — and Brent Suter took the loss as he gave up five runs in five and one third innings to drop to 2-2. Luke Weaver improved to 1-1 for Saint Louis as he surrendered two runs in six and a third frames with relief help from former Brewer Zach Duke and Trevor Rosenthal’s seventh save of the year.
