In golf, Steve Stricker of Madison ties for third at the P-G-A senior Champions Tour event in the suburban Twin Cities. Stricker shot a 66 Sunday to finish 18 below par at 198 at the Three “M” Championship in Blaine. Paul Goydos, who shot a tournament record 60 on Saturday, won the event in a one hole playoff against Gene Sauers as Jerry Kelly of Madison tied for 23rd at minus 12, Fox Point native Skip Kendall tied for 41st at minus eight, and Rhinelander native Dan Forsman tied for 59th at minus four. On the P-G-A Tour, Osceola native Charlie Danielson tied for 34th at the Barracuda Championship in Reno with 28 points in the modified Stableford system that rewards players for going below par, and penalizes them for shooting above it. Chris Stroud won a three way playoff in two extra holes.
