About 80 Major League scouts looked on as dozens of top players in the Northwoods League showed off their skills. The league’s annual “Major League Dreams Showcase” took place Tuesday night in Madison, featuring a pair of games plus batting practice, bullpen sessions, and fielding drills. In Game One, Zach Zubia of Rochester and Isaac Collins of Duluth both hit two run homers in a game that ended in a 5-5 tie after eleven innings. Seven Madison Mallards played in Game Two, in which the home team had a 13-7 victory. Cole Daily of the Mallards drove in three runs with a double and a single, and Madison’s Tyler Dyson threw a 95 mile-and-hour fastball while fanning two in his lone inning of relief. League play in the Northwoods resumes tonight (Wednesday).
