The Wisconsin football team has canceled a public practice scheduled for this (Thursday) afternoon in Milwaukee at Custer Stadium. U-W officials say heavy thunderstorms are in the forecast, and they called off the event late Wednesday afternoon. Coach Paul Chryst says he’s disappointed — and he hopes the Badgers can make it there in the future. Meanwhile, U-W running back Taiwan Deal is among the latest to sit out with minor injuries, sidelined Wednesday with a protective boot on his right foot. Backup corner Dontye Carriere Williams was also added to the injury list with a bad back — and starting receiver Jazz Peavy has missed two days with an injured leg.
