35 men have been arrested in a prostitution sting which lasted over the span of 4 days in Brown County. The men, known as “johns” were taken in last month in conjunction with several agencies, including the FBI, and was in support of the National Johns Suppression Initiative which started in Cook County Illinois in 2011. According to Officer Mathew Wilson, the police do most of their work is done online on sites such as Backpage and Craigslist. In total, 1,020 sex buyers, also known as “Johns”, were arrested. And 75 adult and six juvenile victims were recovered.
