During a recent meeting, the City of Manitowoc Personnel Committee sat down with the Police Union to attempt to strike a deal. The new contract clarified certain policies, and shift times for detectives. A big part of the three year deal was that everyone represented by the union, namely patrolmen and detectives, will receive a 3% salary increase each year of the contract. At their meeting last night, The City Council approved the deal. According to Personnel Committee Chairman Eric Sitkowits, the contract negotiations were the smoothest he has ever seen.
