Packers Keep Making Moves

One day after setting a 53-man roster, the Green Bay Packers made more moves Sunday to bolster their outside linebacking. General manager Ted Thompson claimed pass rusher Chris Odom off waivers from Atlanta — traded Jayrone Elliott to Dallas for a conditional seventh round draft pick in 2018 — finalized a one year deal with veteran Ahmad Brooks, who agreed to it last week — and put backup offensive lineman Don Barclay on an injured reserve status that lets him return after eight weeks. Without Barclay, the Packers have Justin McCray and Lucas Patrick as backup centers should Corey Linsley get hurt in Sunday’s regular season opener against Seattle. Also, the Packers signed a ten member practice squad headed by quarterback Joe Callahan and safety Jermaine Whitehead.
