Matt Kenseth of Cambridge takes sixth in Sunday night’s NASCAR Monster Energy Series’ race in Darlington, South Carolina. Denny Hamlin won the Bojangles Southern 500, and Kenseth held onto the 15th of 16 playoff spots with one race before the playoffs begin. Paul Menard of Eau Claire took 16th at Darlington, and he’s 23rd in the driver standings of NASCAR’s top series while Beloit born Danica Patrick was 26th in the race and 28th in the standings. In the Camping World Truck Series, Johnny Sauter of Necedah took sixth in Sunday’s Chevy Silverado 250 near Bowmanville, Ontario. Rookie Austin Cindric won the race, and Sauter remains third in the playoff standings.
