Both Wisconsin teams in the Class “A” Midwest League wrapped up their seasons on Labor Day. The Beloit Snappers ended with a 3-0 home victory against Cedar Rapids, while the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers finished with a 7-3 loss at Quad Cities. The Snappers, who are affiliated with the Oakland “A”s, finished 33-36 for the season’s second half in fourth place in the Western Division, eight and a half games behind champion Quad Cities. Wisconsin, a Brewers’ affiliate, was tied for fifth among the eight Western clubs at 33-37, nine games back. The playoffs open tomorrow (Wednesday) with Peoria hosting Quad Cities, Kane County at Cedar Rapids, Fort Wayne at Bowling Green, and West Michigan at Dayton.
