A Manitowoc man was arrested yesterday evening after almost striking police vehicle. The officer was on a routine patrol through the Shell gas station on Hecker Road, when a vehicle entered the parking lot, almost struck a flower bed, and the squad car. The officer pulled the man over, and noticed he smelled of intoxicants and was slurring his speech. When the man opened the glove box to retrieve proof of insurance, the officer spotted a glass pipe, typically used to smoke marijuana. A search of the vehicle also resulted in the finding of rolling papers and a baggie filled with what was described as a green leafy substance. The man was booked on charges of felony possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
