A Milwaukee man is due back in a Racine courtroom one week from today (Thursday) for the murder of his girlfriend, two years after he left prison for another killing. Twenty-eight-year-old Sammie Miller is charged with first degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, and illegal firearm possession as a felon. Prosecutors say he got into an argument after seeing 28-year-old Audrey Scott dance with somebody else at a downtown Milwaukee bar on July fourth. Miller allegedly beat the woman, shot her, and dumped her in a wooded area in Racine County. He was earlier convicted of felony murder for the shooting death of Douglas Mitchell during a botched holdup attempt in 2007, and he served eight years in prison until his release in 2015.
