The Manitowoc Lincoln cross country teams competed in the bulldog invitational at New London Saturday. The Ship boys placed 5th with Sam Jacobson being their top runner at #16….while the girls finished 7th. Brianna Reinhart was Lincoln’s best finisher at 13th.
In girls volleyball: Roncalli went 3-and-1 at the Mishicot tournament. The ‘Jets’ defeated Gibraltar, Bonduel & Rwo Rivers 2-sets to 1..before ‘dropping’ a 3-set match to the host Indians. Individually, Olivia Ziegler turned in 18-kills & 8-blocks, Kellyn Kiel had ’32 assists’, and Olivia Becker contributed 24-‘digs’ & 2-assists.
Boys soccer: Manitowoc Lincoln went 2-oh-and-1…to place 3rd at the Kiel invitational. The Ships began the day by edging New Holstein 2-1….then battled to a scoreless tie with Winnebago Lutheran Academy, before the Vikings won the penalty kick shootout 4-3. Lincoln then blanked Random Lake ‘5-nil’. Josh Gutman (goot’-man) paced Manitowoc, now 8-2-and-1 this season, with 3-goals at the invite..Grahm Pratt added a ‘pair’ of goals.
And in girls tennis…Roncalli hosted a triangular meet at Lincoln park Saturday. The Jets were defeated by (Appleton) Xavier & (Wausau) Newman..7-nothing in each match. Their number-3 doubles team of Anika Czekala (ah’-nik-ah sih-kull’-ah) and Zenaida (zih-nye’-dah) Rodriguez dropped a ‘3-set’ battle against Newman.
