The head of the Wisconsin based Kohl’s Department Stores will retire next May. Kevin Mansell has been with Kohl’s in Menomonee Falls for 35 years, the last 18 as the company’s president and the last nine as the C-E-O. Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief merchandising and marketing officer, will become the new C-E-O. Chief operating officer Sona Chawla will be promoted to president. The 65-year-old Mansell joined Kohl’s in 1982, when the company had only a few stores in Metro Milwaukee. It now has more than eleven hundred stores nationwide, plus an expanded shopping website.
