There are a lot of really cool things going on in Two Rivers and Manitowoc, and a duo from the Cool City have taken to YouTube to share them with the world.
Todd Nilson and Darla LeClair are the hosts of the Two Rivers Talks YouTube show, and they cover a wide variety of topics, including the Paragon Partners property saga with the city, politics, and Kites Over Lake Michigan to name a few.
SeehaferNews.com spoke with the duo and asked what made them want to start this show. Darla explained that both of them are very involved in the community, with Todd owning Two Rivers BizStarts, and her serving on the City Council. “We felt that Two Rivers was the red-headed step-child of Manitowoc County. We felt very underrepresented. It was kinda like if no one else is going to talk about us, we will.”
Todd expanded on that view, saying “We were excited to do this because we see the potential of Two Rivers…It’s been a joy to try to do things to try to bring the city to life and make it distinct from Manitowoc as a city.”
Todd and Darla were actually able to sit down with Governor Tony Evers and Missy Hughes from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. They said it was a great experience, and both Evers and Hughes were very accommodating. Darla called it one of the easiest interviews they have done to date. Todd explained that he took care of the economic development questions, while Darla spoke about the arts, and how small towns are trying to revitalize themselves. They said that the Governor and Hughes were very accommodating to them during their time in Madison.
As for their favorite interview they have ever done, Todd and Darla both said right away it was their talk with 18-year-old Emily Rystiken, the owner of Scream N’ Conuts in Two Rivers. Darla called Emily wise beyond her years and said “I can’t wait to see what she is doing 2, 5, 10 years from now. It’s going to be amazing.” To see all of the great interviews they have done, simply search Two Rivers Talks on YouTube. Their most recent show was actually with our own Terry Stevenson and Ruby Gutierez, where they spoke about the Hello Lakeshore! Podcast. You can also listen to them on the Hello Lakeshore! Podcast on the Seehafer News App and Soundcloud.
