Wisconsin Women Blank Mercyhurst

Ten times the Wisconsin women’s hockey team has played Mercyhurst and 10 times it has won, the latest Thursday night at home by a 4-0 score.  Four Badgers found the range, starting with freshman Caitlin Schneider in the first period.  Junior Mikaela Gardner matched that in the second period, then junior Sophia Shaver added another score less than one minute later.  Senior Claudia Kepler wrapped up the scoring with 10 minutes left.  Sophomore Abby Roque’s three assists give her a nation-leading six points in three games.  Sophomore goaltender Kristen Campbell stopped all 21 shots fired at her to claim her second straight shutout.  The same two teams play at LaBahn Arena tonight at 7:00 p-m.
