Sun Prairie police tracked down a bank robbery suspect less than 24 hours after the hold up. Thirty-year-old Alex Melton was taken into custody Thursday. Police had been looking for Melton since the Bank of Sun Prairie was robbed Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses say Melton entered the bank at about 4:30 p-m, passed a note to the teller demanding money and left with some cash. Police established a perimeter around an Aldi’s grocery store after receiving a tip the man they were looking for was there. They were joined by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and a Town of Madison police dog, but Melton wasn’t inside the building.
