The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued a license to a Michigan company that wants to drill for precious metals in Oneida County.
The mineral exploration license was issued Monday. Menominee-based Badger Minerals says it plans to drill 10 holes on private property in the Town of Schoepke near the Wolf River and Stockley Creek.
Sixty-two percent of Oneida County residents voted against mining on some forest land in Lynne when a vote was taken in November 2018.
