Oconomowoc High School seniors lost their privilege of leaving campus during the lunch hour for one week, after the principal cited two incidents of disrespect. Joseph Moylan wrote to parents after a number of students walked out of an assembly about the opioid crisis that ran into the lunch period September 18th. A documentary was shown, and Attorney General Brad Schimel made an unscheduled appearance — and Moylan said the school gave “many apologies” after kids walked out on audience members who lost children to overdoses, got loud at times, and aimed a laser pointer at the screen. Also, Moylan said some students at a high school football game dressed like pregnant women with babies falling out of their shirts as they called the opponents names. Moylan told the Journal Sentinel the school “pounded” for three days on lessons to understand respect.
