Congressman Glen Grothman of Glenbeulah voted in favor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Act yesterday. Grothman is a cosponsor of the legislation, which makes elective abortions of babies 20 weeks past fertilization illegal, unless the mother was raped, in danger of death, or the case involves incest. Grothman stated that “Late-term abortion is not only painful for the mother, but there’s more and more evidence that it’s painful for the child as well.” The legislation has already passed a vote by the House of Representatives by a vote of 237-189.
