A Republican state lawmaker has died. Representative Bob Gannon of West Bend died Tuesday of apparent natural causes at age 58. Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke says Gannon’s wife got worried because he did not return home when he was expected. Gannon was in his third year in the Assembly — and he was one of five Republicans to vote against the G-O-P’s state budget package in mid September. Assembly finance chair John Nygren says he knew Gannon long before he joined the Legislature because of his involvement in the West Bend Jaycees — and Nygren was “saddened” to hear that he died. Gannon chaired the Assembly’s Urban Revitalization committee and was the vice chair of the Children and Families’ panel.
