Local hospital administrator Brett Norell of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center spoke out about the coronavirus yesterday.
SeehaferNews.com asked Norell if the virus of Chinese origin can be a death sentence for some. He replied by saying “I’m certainly not an expert on whether you would call it a death sentence…I think it’s just too new to fully understand.”
He also noted that there are likely a good number of people that had the virus, but never got tested and basically just slept it off.
As for those most at risk, Norell said it’s “typically the older population or those who already have a chronic illness…that may cause their immune system to be already compromised.”
The HFM President and CEO says there’s a lot of unknown and when that happens, it causes fear. He explained that the government is behind the hospitals, and they are all in contact with each other to make sure the proper care is being used.
Norell advises people to call Holy Family Memorial at 320-3333 if they feel they have some type of illness, and hospital personnel will get you tested or screened.
