Wisconsin’s job creation agency and the U-W System are working together to encourage out of state graduates to remain in Wisconsin to start their careers. The State Journal of Madison says the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has created a new position that seeks to increase the numbers of available employees for Wisconsin businesses. The W-E-D-C’s Tricia Braun says having one person coordinate the efforts will make the collaboration stronger — and that new person is expected to be on board by the end of this year. Officials say about 60-percent of U-W graduates take part in internships with various companies before they get their diplomas. University President Ray Cross says he’d like to see that figure at 100-percent.
