City of Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels has released an update on the effects of Covid-19 on the city. There are a number of facilities that are now closed to the public effective immediately. City Hall is open for voting however citizens are encouraged to vote absentee. Tax payments and cat/dog license renewal deadlines are now being extended to May 31st.

City of Manitowoc COVID-19 Update
Effective immediately (03/16/2020)
The following city facilities will be closed to the public until Monday, April 6th, 2020:
-The Manitowoc Senior Center
-The Manitowoc Public Library
-The Rahr-West Art Museum
-The Lincoln Park Zoo (Manitowoc)
-Municipal Court
All scheduled programming or events at these facilities are also canceled. Meals on wheels delivery will continue from the Senior Center.
As of right now, Maritime Metro Transit will continue regular operations. This is being monitored closely.
City Hall is open for voting, however, all city departments within City Hall will be closed to the public and citizens must request an appointment before entering the excluded areas. Citizens are encouraged to vote absentee. Information on how to do so can be found on the city website. www.manitowoc.org
Tax payments due March 31st will also be extended to encourage people to avoid having to come to City Hall. Dog and cat licenses needing renewal will have no late fees. Both are now due by May 31st.
