Manitowoc County Public Health Officer Mary Halada is issuing clarifications regarding The State Of Wisconsin’s Emergency Order prohibiting mass gatherings of 10 or more to prevent the spread of COVID 19.
Effective immediately, Halada has ordered that hair and nail salons along with massage parlors must close due to the high likelihood that patrons and employees will be within arm’s length for more than 10 minutes.
All bars are ordered closed however restaurants may only remain open only for takeout, drive-thru, and delivery. Dining rooms must close and take out orders must be taken over the phone or online prior to the customer arriving to pick up their order.
Grocery Stores and gas stations may remain open but must close all seating intended for consuming food, cease self-service operations of salad bars, beverage and coffee dispensers, buffets or any self-dispensing of any unpackaged food or condiments.
Halada has also encouraged the public to practice “social distancing” which means only going out into the public for essential purposes and keeping a six-foot distance between themselves and others when doing so. The County Health Department thanks everyone for their “due diligence” during these difficult times and for more information visit the Manitowoc County Health Department at www.manitowoccounty.org or call 683-4155.
