The Manitowoc Public Library is doing everything they can to make this trying time a little easier for those who are staying at home.
Staff members held a meeting on Wednesday, and according to Youth Services Manager Julia Lee, they made a decision about their curb-side pickup program.
She said “At least for today (Friday), we will have curb side pick-up from 9:000-noon and 1:00-5:00.” Those who wish to participate simply need to call the library and place you “order”, and call when you get to the library.
This viability of this program will be readdressed next week.
As for the sanitation precautions they are taking, Julia said they are telling customers “We are doing as much as possible. We are taking as many sanitizing precautions as we can, it’s just not possible for us to get everything. For books, it’s impossible to sanitize the pages of a book. It’s just not something we can do.”
Any items that are checked out are not going to have any late fees attached to them, but they will be due on April 15th. If the pandemic continues beyond that date, the due date will be adjusted accordingly.
