Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers says he will announce a “Safer at Home” order today, encouraging people to stay at home rather than make unnecessary trips.
Workers providing essential care and services will still be able to travel to and from work.
Evers says people should still get out and walk the dogs, but limit their travel to things like going to the doctor, buying groceries or getting medication.
Wisconsin health officials have received 425 positive results from more than 7,500 COVID-19 tests.
There have been five deaths caused by the virus.
Doctors say about 10-to-12 percent of those who test positive wind up needing to be hospitalized.
