Many people are continuing to work from their home desk, and scammers are targeting them.
The Better Business Bureau has received multiple reports of individuals being targeted with IT related scams, with one person losing nearly $250 because of one.
The report indicates that a pop-up ad appeared, and told the victim to contact a company who claimed to be affiliated with Apple.
After paying to “fix the problem” the victim never heard from the company again. Keep in mind, you should always be wary of anyone who claims to be with any other company.
Always double check any website, phone number, and any emails you may receive.
If someone claims to be with a certain company, look up their actual phone number, and if it doesn’t match, report it.
