As of 8 am on Wednesday, April 8 there remain three confirmed positive tests for the COVID 19 virus in Manitowoc County.
Good news says Emergency Management Services Director Travis Waack, however, the number of tests performed is rather low. This means “there are very likely more cases out there.” Waack is reminding people to act as if it is everywhere because “we are heading into a critical period in terms of combating the spread of COVID-19 locally…Even if our official positive confirmed numbers don’t show it, we know that it’s spreading and spreading fast. This weekend is going to be critical, so stay home.”
Especially with Easter weekend upon us. That means eliminating all in-person social gatherings such as church services and any celebratory dinners-minus those who already live in your home. Waack says he knows that is a difficult thing to do, but “it is for public safety, and it is with the aim of saving lives.”
