Several WIAA Boys Soccer Regional openers were played last night in Division 3. The co-op of Roncalli and Two Rivers won an offensive clinic 7-5 over Little Chute. The Jets were led by freshman Tyler Bonin who scored a hot trick (3 goals) The Jets will face a very good Notre Dame team, who is seeded #2 tomorrow. Meanwhile Luxemburg-Casco edged Kiel 4-3 in overtime, and the co-op of Wautoma and Wild Rose defeated Denmark 5-1.
The WIAA Girls Volleyball Regional Tournament began last night as well. In Division 2, Shawano swept Two rivers in 3 sets, while Chilton did the same to Kiel. Denmark defeated Sturgeon Bay in 3, but it took 4 sets for host Peshtigo to get by Valders in a very competitive match (22-25, 30-28, 25-20, & 25-21). In Division 3, third seeded Howards Grove swept Roncalli, Brillion bested Mishicot in 3, New Holstein blanked Kewaunee, and Savestapool won 3 straight from Cedar Grove-Belgium. The Pioneers will face top seeded Manitowoc Lutheran tomorrow night.
