Night Market 920, one of the premier summer season events on the Lakeshore, has been canceled. In a press release organizers said, “Unfortunately, the uncertainty around the spread of COVID-19, recommendations and requirements put in place by local and state governments for large events, and consultation with health advisors, involved organizations, and our dedicated partners, we feel it in the best interest to cancel Night Market 920 scheduled for Wednesdays, July 8 and 22, August 5 and 19, and September 2 and 16 at 720 Quay Street for the 2020 season.”
The downtown Manitowoc event draws an estimated 3,000 people per night and features farmers, artisans and makers, live music performances along with food and drinks.
Chief Executive Officer Amber Daugs says “This decision was not made lightly as we’ve come to recognize the important role Night Market 920 has come to play in the revitalization of our downtown… The event helps connect our community to our mission which raises funds that significantly impacts Grow It Forward’s efforts to improve access to healthy, local food for over 7,000 individuals who experience hunger throughout Manitowoc County.”
Event Promoter Brennan Seehafer of Brennan Seehafer Productions states, “We are looking forward to working behind the scenes to deliver a bigger series in 2021. We will continue to provide updates on future events once we have them. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding.”
