The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties continues to rise, albeit at a much slower rate than we had seen over the previous couple of weeks.
In Manitowoc County, 2 more cases were reported yesterday, leaving 83 total cases. However, 4 more people have fully recovered from the virus, a total of 35 recoveries, leaving 47 active cases. 42 more tests came back negative, bringing that number up to 5,538.
In Sheboygan County, there was only one more confirmed case, bringing that total up to 191. For the 8th consecutive day, the number of recoveries outweighed the number of new cases, as 3 more patients recovered. 170 people have now recovered, leaving 17 active cases.
The low number of positives is not due to lack of testing, as 171 more tests came back negative. That number now sits at 8,652.
It should also be noted that the positive return rate in Manitowoc County is roughly 1.5% while in Sheboygan County that rate is just over 2.1%.
