The COVID-19 numbers in Manitowoc County are looking much better than they did last week.
Emergency Services Director Travis Waack told SeehaferNews.com they are “Reporting 83 positive cases today, two of those coming in yesterday and one on Wednesday. Also reporting 5,538 negative tests.”
While this is a positive thing, Waack says he is “cautiously optimistic” about the numbers, saying it is too early to call it a complete reversal.
Two of those cases came from the Two Rivers Police Department. Waack said this news in not surprising. “They’re members of the community too,” he said. “They’re out and about, and of course have an important job to do. They are just as susceptible as everyone else in the community.”
One other case was reported out of the Shady Lane assisted living facility, which the Health Department is aware of. While a full blown investigation has not yet been ordered, Waack said “The Health Department will certainly be following up on that.”
