COVID-19 continues to be ever present in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties. In Manitowoc County, seven more cases were confirmed yesterday, but one more person was also listed as fully recovered.
This leaves the county with 162 positive cases, 42 recoveries, 119 active cases, and 7,221 negative test results. It should be noted that the number of negative results actually went down by one.
According to the Manitowoc County Health Department this is because, “the individual is not currently living in Manitowoc County. There is a lag in negative test result reporting from the weekend because limited staffing on the weekend only allows for the processing of positive results so those with a positive test result can be notified in a timely manner.”
In Sheboygan County, 32 cases were confirmed since Friday’s report, along with 9 more recoveries. 91 of their 321 total cases remain active, with 226 recoveries, and an additional 360 negative tests, brining that total up to 12,741.
Also of note, Wisconsin DHS is now using online registration for their community testing sites to help streamline the testing process. Individuals fill out a brief questionnaire covering symptoms, contact information, and date of birth in order to verify identity. Once completed, the patient will receive two emails – a confirmation email with a QR code, and an email with a link to the system to report suspected COVID-19 exposures.
