The Milwaukee Bucks’ lose to Boston 96-89 in their “Return to the MECCA” on Thursday night. A sellout crowd of more than eleven-thousand enjoyed the nostalgia of watching the Bucks play in their first home from 1968 through ’88. Coach Jason Kidd said it was a great atmosphere but not a “pretty game to watch” as the Celtics defense keyed on shutting down Giannis Antetokounmpo — who still managed to get 28 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists as the Bucks outshot the Celts 45-to-42-percent. Boston shot less than 40 percent in the first half but still managed to trail by just one at the break, and the Celts went in front for good at the end of the third quarter. Al Horford had 27 points and Kyrie Irving 24, as Boston avenged an Opening Night home loss to Milwaukee as the Bucks dropped their record to 3-2.
