The trend has shifted in Manitowoc County when it comes to COVID-19.
Last week it appeared that the trend was beginning to level off, with a week of between 5 and 9 new cases, but over the past three days, the County Health Department has reported double digit new cases.
Yesterday, 10 new cases were added, along with 2 more recoveries, and 25 negative tests. This leaves the pandemic totals at 486 confirmed cases, 229 of which remain active, and 12,016 negative test results.
In Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported 16 new cases, 27 recoveries, and 128 negative tests yesterday. Their pandemic totals now sit at 988 positive and 26,606 negative tests, with 77 people still battling the virus.
The positive return rate continues to climb in both counties, with Manitowoc County now at roughly 3.9%, and Sheboygan County at roughly 3.6%, marking the first time that number was higher in Manitowoc County since the start of the pandemic.
