The spread of COVID-19 is getting worse as yesterday 107 new cases of the virus were confirmed by the County Health Department.
This new single day record brings the pandemic total up to 2,258. 22 people were also listed as fully recovered, while 145 negative tests came back. This brings those totals up to 871 recoveries, leaving 1,380 active cases, 18,272 negative tests, and 7 deaths linked to the virus.
The City of Manitowoc continues to be the most affected, with 45.5% of all cases coming out of the Clipper City. Then it’s Two Rivers with 12.7% of all cases, Kiel at 9.8%, Valders at 3.9%, and Maribel at 3.7% .The only other municipalities above 2.5% are Mishicot at 3.1% and Cleveland who is at 3% of all cases.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, 223 new cases were reported by the Division of Public Health, with one more listed as an inmate at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution. Now a total of 821 inmates have contracted the virus.
Also, two more deaths were also reported, with one in the 30-39 year-old age group, and the other in the 80+.
Only 4 recoveries were added, along with 309 negative tests. This brings the pandemic totals up to 3,839 cases, 890 of which remain active, 27,992 negative tests, and 23 deaths linked to the virus.
