It was a rather hefty weekend in Manitowoc County in terms of COVID-19.
The local single day new positive case record was broken on Saturday, as 132 cases were reported, with 39 more coming in on Friday and 80 on Sunday for a total of 251 over the 3 day stretch. Also, one more person died due to complications brought on by COVID-19, bringing that total up to 10.
On the positive side of the statistics, an additional 121 people were listed as recovered by the Manitowoc County Health Department, and 568 tests came back negative. This brings those totals up to 1,029 recoveries, which leaves 1,597 cases remaining active, and 19,056 negative test results throughout the pandemic.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, in Friday’s report by the Division of Public Health, 106 additional cases were confirmed, with no new cases coming out of the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution.
One more person has died due to COVID-19, and according to the the report. That individual was over the age of 80.
Also, 126 more people were listed as recovered and 187 tests came back negative. This brings the pandemic totals up to 4,101 cases, 982 of which remain active, 2,251 recoveries, 24 deaths, and 28,466 negative test results.
