For the first time since the September 13th report, the number of people who recovered from COVID-19 yesterday was higher than the number of new cases reported by the Manitowoc County Health Department. Only 24 new cases were in the report, while 46 people were added to the recovered column.
However, the number of total tests administered was also significantly lower than it has been over the past few weeks, as 51 tests came back negative, for a total of 75 tests reported.
That being said, The number of active cases still outweighs the number of recoveries significantly. 1,633 of the 2,788 cases remain active, with 1,144 people fully recovered. As a reminder, patients are only listed as recovered, once 30 days has passed from their positive test, and they have not died.
The number of negative tests over the duration of the pandemic is now up to 19,404, and 11 people have died in the County due to the virus.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, 105 new cases were confirmed, along with 68 recovereies, and 117 negative tests.
The Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution did not report any new cases for the second straight day, leaving them still with 858 cases.
The pandemic totals for the County now sit at 4,802 cases, 1,561 of which remain active, 2,358 recoveries, 29,913 negative tests, and 25 deaths linked to the virus.
