It was not a good weekend in Manitowoc County in relation to COVID-19.
3 new deaths linked to the virus were confirmed over the weekend, all of which were reported on Friday. Information regarding these individuals will not be released by the Manitowoc County Health Department.
Also, a total of 265 new cases were reported, with 92 reported on Friday, 131 on Saturday, and 42 on Sunday. This brings the total number of cases up to 3,557.
On the positive side of things, 114 patients were listed as recovered, with only 2 coming in on Friday, 51 on Saturday, and 61 on Sunday. This brings the total of recoveries throughout the pandemic to 1,614. That also means that that 1,922 cases remain active, a number which did drop from 1,941 between Saturday and Sunday.
Also, 472 negative tests came back over the weekend, leaving that total at 20,862.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County on Friday, 134 new cases were confirmed.
On a positive note, the Division of Public Health reported that there are no more active cases of the virus within the walls of the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution, which helped raise the county recovery total by 968.
One more person did pass away due to complications from the virus, bringing the death toll up to 32.
The pandemic totals in the County currently sit at 5,891 cases, 2,002 of which remain active, 3,857 recoveries, and 31,651 negative tests.
