Two more residents of Manitowoc County have died due to COVID-19 related complications.
According to the Manitowoc County Health Department report on Friday, both of these individuals were citizens of Manitowoc and were between the ages of 76 and 85. These two deaths bring the death toll up to 29 since the start of the pandemic.
Also, over the weekend, 178 new cases were reported, with 61 coming in on Friday, 27 on Saturday, and 90 on Sunday. A total of 4,042 Manitowoc County residents have caught the virus since the start of the pandemic.
There were also 141 recoveries, with 27 on Friday, 50 on Saturday, and 64 on Sunday. This brings the gap between recoveries and active cases rather close, with 2,015 people still actively battling the virus, and 1,998 fully recovering.
Also, of note, 345 negative tests came back, raising that total to 21,801.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, in Friday’s report from the Division of Public Health, 265 more people contracted the virus, while 140 recovered, and 2 more died. This brings their pandemic totals up to 7,115 confirmed cases, 2,461 of which remain active, and 43 deaths.
Also, 210 tests came back negative, leaving them with a total of 33,270 negative tests.
