Compared to where they have been lately, the COVID-19 numbers in the Manitowoc County Health Department Report yesterday were rather moderate.
58 new cases were confirmed, along with 49 recoveries, and 63 negative tests. This brings the pandemic totals up to 4,100 cases, 2,024 of which remain active, 2,047 recoveries, and 21,864 negative tests.
29 people have died since the start of the pandemic, and 207 are currently hospitalized. Roughly 84% of all beds in the Northeast Region are currently in use.
As a reminder, the National Guard is back in Manitowoc today at their free drive up testing site at the Expo Grounds. The gates open at 10:00 AM, and will remain open until 6:00 PM, or once 300 tests are performed. To be tested you must have symptoms or have come in close contact with someone who has tested positive.
As Manitowoc County Emergency Services Director Travis Waack stated previously, the Guardsmen have gotten rather efficient in their procedures, so there is no need to line up at the gate prior to 10:00 AM. The line will move rather quickly.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, 110 new cases were added over the weekend.
That coupled with 372 recoveries, and 513 negative tests, leaves their pandemic totals at 7,225 cases, 2,199 of which remain active, 4,983 recoveries, 43 deaths, and 33,783 negative test results.
