Even though the number of new COVID-19 cases in yesterday’s report by the Manitowoc County Health Department were higher than average, there are some good things to report as well.
We will start with the not-so-good, as 71 new cases were confirmed raising the pandemic total up to 4,171 cases. That number of new cases is just above the average for the month, which is at just under 70 new cases per day.
Now for the good news, as 14 people have been released from hospitals in the Northeast Region, leaving 197 still seeking treatment. 85% of all beds in those hospitals are currently occupied.
Also, 49 more people have recovered from the virus, raising that total to 2,096, and leaving 2,046 active cases. An additional 195 tests came back negative, meaning a total of 22,059 tests have come back negative since the start of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported a staggering number of new cases. 410 more people were confirmed to have contracted the virus in yesterday’s report, while only 96 recovered.
Also, 5 more deaths were confirmed to have connections to COVID, and 292 tests came back negative.
Sheboygan County now has 7,635 confirmed cases, 2,508 of those are still active, 5,079 people have recovered, 48 have died, and 34,075 tests have come back negative.
