There may be fewer people seeking treatment for COVID-19 in the Northeast Region of Hospitals, however, the number of ICU beds in use has gone up slightly.
According to Wednesday’s report from the Manitowoc County Health Department, 188 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19, which is a drop of 5 patients, however, 86% of all ICU beds are currently occupied. That is a 1% increase over the previous day.
ICU stands for Intensive Care Unit, and that is where the people who are really struggling with recovery are sent for more attention.
66 new cases were also included in yesterday’s report, bringing the pandemic total up to 4,237.
For the third day in a row, 49 more recoveries were added, raising that total to 2,145, and leaving 2,063 active cases. 93 negative tests also came back, leaving a pandemic total of 22,152 negative tests.
No new deaths were reported, leaving the death toll at 29, with 23 of those being people over the age of 75.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, 205 more cases were confirmed in yesterday’s report by the Division of Public Health. This raises their pandemic total to 7,840.
Their 150 additional recoveries mean that 5,229 people have recovered, and 2,563 people are still battling the virus.
The number of negative tests in the County rose by 144 to 34,219, and the death toll remained stagnant at 48.
