The number of new COVID-19 cases in yesterday’s COVID-19 Update from the Manitowoc County Health Department may have been a little higher than average, but there was a new record set in a different category.
107 more people were added to the recovered list, which beats the old record of 84 in a day set on November 10th. That coupled with the 80 new cases and 113 negative tests bring s the pandemic totals to 4,317 cases, 2,036 of which remain active, 2,252 recoveries, and 22,265 negative tests. No new deaths were reported, leaving the death toll at 29.
192 patients are currently hospitalized for COVID-19 in the Northeast Region of Hospitals, which is up by 4, however, the percentage of ICU beds in use did go down 1% to 85%. The percentage has been lingering right around 85% ever since the Health Department began including it in their daily updates on November 10th, with it getting as low as 78% and as high as 87%.
An average of 190 people have been hospitalized each day since that report, with that number going as high as 207, and as low as 173.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported 181 new cases yesterday, alongside 145 new recoveries, while 238 tests came back negative, and no new deaths were reported.
This leaves their pandemic totals at 8,021 cases, 2,599 of which remain active, 5,374 recoveries, 34,457 negative tests, and 48 deaths contributed to COVID-19.
