It was another pretty good day in Manitowoc County yesterday when it comes to COVID-19 numbers.
104 more people were listed as recovered, while 42 new cases were reported by the County Health Department. That brings the pandemic totals up to 5,022 cases, 1,795 of which remain active, and 3,190 recoveries.
In more good news, 7 more people have been released from the 10 hospitals in the Northeast Region, and the percentage of ICU beds in use fell another percentage point to 83%.
It should also be noted that for the 6th day in a row, no new deaths were reported, leaving the death toll at 37.
We have some additional statistics not explicitly stated by the Health Department as well. While there are about 35% of people who caught the virus are still actively battling it, 63.5% of all patients have fully recovered. The final .75% have died.
Also of note, about 17.5% of all tests in Manitowoc County have come back positive, meaning 82.5% have come back negative.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported an additional 109 cases yesterday, along with 126 recoveries. This brings their totals up to 9,363 cases, 2,213 of which remain active, and 7,088 recoveries.
No new deaths were reported, leaving that total at 62, and 128 more tests came back negative. That total now jumps to 36,528.
